Curamus School for Autism

April 2023

April is Autism Month

Acceptance / Appreciation / Awareness A message from our Principal, Michelle van Zyl “At this time of year our school advocates to everyone we can about Autism and our school. We try to educate as many people as possible about our wonderful children. Below is our programme for this year. Please share it with others. If anyone wants to attend any of our events they can contact us when the school opens. Our theme is #communicate. “ 💙💛💜❤️

Our Gardening Project

In 2018 our PID phase team wanted to teach our learners something more functional as part of our skills. I suggested tunnel farming, where we could get them more involved physically in the planting and harvesting process. On 10 June 2019 we harvested our first spinach crop and they loved it. In January 2023 we planted spinach again. My vision is to get the DCAPS phase involved and starting a CURAMUS PADSTAL at the gate where we sell the children’s art projects and fresh veggies daily! ❤️ Written by Annelize Willemse
